Standing Watch over George Washington’s Tomb Mt. Vernon, Virginia September 20, 2014
Pictured here is the MOSSAR Color Guard, who stood watch over George Washington’s Tomb at Mt. Vernon, Virginia on September 20, 2014. Each MOSSAR Color Guard member stood watch, guarding two or more times during a 30 minute interval guarding the tomb of George Washington. MOSSAR Color Guard members were part of 19 Color Guard members there.
Hundreds of guests were at the estate and watched the changing of the guard at Washington’s tomb. Taking place there was the annual Colonial Market & Fair on September 20-21, 2014. They had 45 booths, each with many wares, many performances every 1/2 hour from 9 am - 5 pm. They had men in Revolutionary War uniforms on horse back riding around. Many tours were offered including the mansion, grounds etc.
