The MOSSAR Color Guard is shown here participating in a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 30, 2012 located at Roslyn Heights, which is the Headquarters of the Missouri State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Boonville, MO. The Missouri State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, hosted an opening ceremony for their annual Christmas open house at 5:30 p.m. November, 30th at 821 Main St. in Boonville. A Stars of Patriotism tree lighting ceremony took place honoring those who have served or are serving in the military. A reception was open to the public follow ed this event.
Roslyn Heights will be open for tours from December 1st to December 8th. The Victorian mansion was built in 1895 an is furnished with antiques and a decorated tree in each room. The theme is “Star Spangled Season.” Tours will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., music will begin at 11:30 a.m. and a soup lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
