39th Annual Observance of Harry S. Truman's Birthday Harry S. Truman Library 500 W. U.S. 24 Highway Independence, Missouri Tuesday, May 8th, 2012
The MOSSAR Color Guard conducted the 39th Annual Observance of President Harry S. Truman's birthday at the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, MO on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at 9:30 AM. In observance of this occasion, the Truman Library and Museum, and several area Truman-related organizations celebrated the 128th birthday (May 8, 1884) of the area's most famous citizen, Harry S. Truman. In observance of President Truman's Birthday, Dr. Devine honored Truman's memory and celebrated his many accomplishments. Representatives from over 52 local organizations presented wreaths at the Truman gravesite during the special ceremony in the Library's courtyard.

Brigadier General Scott Thoele, Deputy Commander, Fort Leavenworth, KS and Aide Major Dan Runyon are also shown here. Each Color Guard member received a Challenge Coin from Brigadier General Thoele.
