The MOSSAR Color Guard conducted the 38th Annual Observance of President Harry S. Truman's birthday at the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, MO on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at 9:30 AM.  In observance of this occasion, the Truman Library and Museum, and several area Truman-related organizations celebrated the 127th birthday (May 8, 1884) of the area's most famous citizen, Harry S. Truman.  In observance of President Truman's Birthday, Dr. Devine honored Truman's memory and his many accomplishments.

The MOSSAR Color Guard conducted the 38th Annual Observance of President Harry S. Truman's birthday at the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, MO on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at 9:30 AM. In observance of this occasion, the Truman Library and Museum, and several area Truman-related organizations celebrated the 127th birthday (May 8, 1884) of the area's most famous citizen, Harry S. Truman. In observance of President Truman's Birthday, Dr. Devine honored Truman's memory and celebrated his many accomplishments.

The MOSSAR Color Guard team is shown here participating directly after the wreath-laying ceremony event, which was presented at President Truman's grave. Representatives from over 40 American Legion Posts in eight states presented wreaths at the Truman gravesite during the special ceremony in the Library's courtyard.
