After the Ceremony, Senior President Cathy Owens conducted the Oath of Officers for the year 2010-2011 for both Senior and Children CAR members.  MOSSAR and KSSSAR Color Guard members, who are also Corps of Discovery Society members are shown here taking their oath.  In addition, Harry S. Truman Chapter member Romie Carr also participated in this oath.

On Saturday, May 29, 2010, a Memorial Service was held with a Memorial Wreath-Laying to Honor the Magnificent Valor at Liberty Memorial. Society President, Amanda Dexter, presided over the Wreath-Laying Ceremony. The C.A.R., MOSSAR and KSSSAR Color Guard participated, in which the children carried the National Colors and a C.A.R Banner. Frederick Kaffenberger presented the National Colors on behalf of the C.A.R. The S.A.R conducted the Presentation of the Colors, led by MOSSAR Color Guard Commander, Major General Robert L. Grover. The Wreath presentation and Invocation was conducted by Chaplain Nathanael DeVenney. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States was led by First Vice-President Anna DeVenney. Recording Secretary Victoria Stapleton led the American’s Creed. Frederick Kaffenberger led the C.A.R. Creed. Corresponding. Secretary Jeffrey Arnold led C.A.R. Motto. Chaplain Nathanael DeVenney conducted the Memorial Service. Joe Hunter recited In Flanders Field. In tribute to C.A.R-family veterans, members read names, and recognized nature of service and rank wherever possible. At the closing of the ceremony, Taps was sung by the group, a prayer was said, and the Colors were recessed.
