The Achievement Day Dinner honors alumni who have achieved distinction in their chosen spheres of endeavor and interprets the excellence of William Jewell College to our greater Kansas City area constituency. The dinner also serves as a fundraising event for the Jewell Fund which provides needs-based student scholarships. William Jewell College celebrates 67 years of alumni achievement with special guest speaker Jon Meacham, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House. Meacham is a former Newsweek editor and host of the PBS series “Need to Know.” The event will be held March 3, 2011, at the Westin Crown Center Hotel.
