We sadly announce that Bob E. Comer, current National Trustee and immediate past President of the Missouri Society passed away at his home on June 28th, 2008, succumbing to cancer after a courageous battle. Just two months earlier President Comer attended the 2008 MOSSAR State Convention, after being released from the hospital, and completed his duties as State President.
Bob & Sandra, his wife of of almost 46 years, have been committed and energetic supporters of SAR, DAR, and CAR. In addition to his leadership as State president, Bob Served MOSSAR in two Vice-President positions and for three years was the MOSSAR State Genealogist. He served two terms as president of the Christopher Casey Chapter. Bob was also a charter member of the Col. Robert McFarland SAR Chapter in Morristown, TN, which was named for his patriot ancestor.
Among his SAR honors are the Patriot Medal (highest award given by a state socierty), the Meritorious Service medal, and the Christopher Casey Chapter's Patriot Day award for his support of historical preservation and education.
The SAR has lost a great Compatriot and those who have worked with Bob over the years, have lost a friend - one of the "Good Guys".
