Shown here is the MOSSAR Color Guard Team, in which the Musket Team participated in the Veterans Way Memorial Dedication Ceremony, located at Pink Hill Park in Blue Springs, MO on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
It is a memorial for veterans of all wars and all branches of the military. During the dedication ceremony, veterans from each branch in attendance were recognized. At the center of the memorial, the phrase “Restless Recovery” is inscribed. The monument resembles the half scale Vietnam War memorial that visited Blue Springs in 2010. “The black granite ties in to ‘The Wall That Heals’ that was here a few years ago. It was all made out of black granite material and that goes back to Vietnam memorial back in D.C., ” said Rick Howell, the landscape architect for the project. In front of the monument, a reflection bench featuring the insignias of the five U.S. military branches. The cost of the monument was $150,000 and was raised and paid for from Citizens of Blue Springs, MO. It has been turned over to Parks and Recreation Department.
