316th Meeting Joint DAR/SAR Meeting Prairie Chapter and Harry S. Truman Chapter Lees Summit, Missouri Saturday, October 8, 2011
The Harry S. Truman Chapter inducted Compatriot Roy Hutchinson into the ranks at the 316th Meeting on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The meeting was a Joint DAR/SAR Meeting, with both Prairie Chapter and Harry S. Truman Chapter members in attendence. President Dirk A. Stapleton and the Harry S. Truman Chapter Color Guard officiated during the ceremony. President Dirk Stapleton presented Compatriot Hutchinson with his membership oath and membership certificate. Compatriot Hutchinson’s spouse, Kathleen Hutchinson also participated in the ceremony, in which she pinned the NSSAR Rosette to Compatriot Hutchinson’s lapel. Compatriot David McCann, who was Compatriot Hutchinson’s sponsor, but was unable to participate in the ceremony. Therefore, Vice-President Lewis acted upon behalf of Compatriot McCann. At the closing of the ceremony, Compatriot Hutchinson also received his Harry S. Truman Chapter Coin. All Harry S. Truman Chapter members congratulated Compatriots Roy Hutchinson after the induction ceremony.
Compatriot Roy Hutchinson stated that he was very proud about being installed into the SAR. Also after the ceremony, Compatriot Hutchinson was given a chance to tell us about his Patriot Ancestor.
