The guest speaker at the March 14, 2015 Harry S. Truman Chapter meeting was LaDene Morton. Her topic was on the “Waldo Story — Born on the Santa Fe Trails”.
President Robert L. Grover and the Harry S. Truman Color Guard, are shown here presenting a Certificate to guest speaker LaDene Morton. LaDene Morton holds a Masters in public administration from the University of Kansas and has studied and practiced community and economic development for more the thirty years in areas all across the United States. She is a former resident of Brookside and Waldo, where she also operated her professional practice for ten years. In addition to the to the Brookside story she will speak on The Waldo Story. She has authored one work of fiction, What Lies West, a historical novel about the American West. The presentation was followed by a question and answer period with LaDene Morton. President Grover presented Compatriot Craig Dillaou with a Certificate of Appreciation and a chapter challenge coin.
