Patriot Ledstone Noland assisted in establishing American Independence as a Private in Capt John Johnson’ Fork Ranger Unit and in Capt Gabriel Knox’ Company, Col Smith’s Regiment, North Carolina Militia.  Ledstone’s service is documented in his pension application S16992 at the U.S. National Archives & Records Administration.
 
Ledstone was born in 1750 in Charles County, Maryland and died on 6 July 1839 in Jackson County, Missouri.  He is buried at Pitcher Cemetery in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri, which is located at 3306 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Independence, Jackson County, Missouri.  It is a small pioneer graveyard established in 1830 and open to the public.
