Sergeant William Rippeto
Missouri Society Sons of the American Revolution

Compatriot Perry D. "Bud" Marks Jr. lives in Holt , Missouri. He joined the Sons of the American Revolution and Harry S. Truman Chapter on 14 December 2010, sponsored by Compatriot Robert Grover, and installed by President Dirk Stapleton.  Compatriot Marks served in the United States Navy and Unites Staes Army.

Sergeant William Rippeto was a Patriot who served in the American Revolutionary War. The list of Virginia Soldiers of 1776, pages 1442-1443 documents his service. He enlisted 28 Nov 1776, as a Private in the Continental Line for 3 yrs. He reenlisted Dec 1778, as a Private in the 10th Va Regiment (formerly 14th) under command of Col Wm. Davies. Later, he was ordered to join the Southern Army, and joined with Col Richard Parker at Fredericksburg. After that, he was taken prisoner by the British at Charlestown, SC, on 12 May 1780. Then, he was taken to the north in a prisoner exchange and returned to military service again. He then served as Quartermaster Sergeant in Lieutenant Colonel Hammond's Regiment, in South Carolina.
