Patriot Joseph Hall assisted in establishing American Independence
as a Private, Capt Snoody, Woods, and Whitly’s Company, Col Logan’s Regiment, Virginia Militia. His service is documented in his pension application S13302 at the U.S. National Archives & Records Administration.

Joseph (son of Andrew Hall and Mary Lapsley) was born 16 February 1764, Rockbridge County, Virginia; died 12 December 1843, Cass County, Missouri; and buried Union Baptist Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Cass County, Missouri. Joseph married Ann Barnett 2 January 1785, Lincoln County, Kentucky. Ann (daughter of John Barnett) was born 20 May 1763, Lincoln County, Kentucky and died 14 May 1844, Cass County, Missouri.
